A charity bike ride from Xi'an to Zhengzhou needs local biker's opinion - 骑友网|单车论坛|骑行网|自行车之家

As discussed below is an outline of our charity ride plan.

We aim to raise funds for Chi Heng Foundation (a China / HK based Charity  organization supporting AIDS impacted children refer www.chiheng.org ) by taking a group of riders on a journey from Xian  to Zhengzhou in May or October 2011.

As mentioned we are looking for some local knowledge and assistance  as we begin our planning .

In the first instance with Route and logistics planning.

We are looking at leaving from Xian and riding to the Accor sponsored Chi Heng workshop near Zhengzhou. We anticipate riding over 500 kms and taking 5 days with between 10 and 20 riders.

The idea  is to commence from  the Sofitel Xian and ride past  and visit key attractions on route eg Xian Warriors , Longmen Grottes, Sholing Temple completing the ride at the Sofitel Zhengzhou.

We will be looking to create PR and raise awareness along the way as well as raise a significant donation to Chi Heng thou sponsorships and donations.

Right now you can assist us with  providing information and / or  putting me in contact with any bike / ride related organizations with local  knowledge and or people who may be interested to assist us or join the ride and of course potential sponsors.

We aim to make the ride as  enjoyable and senic as possible, avoiding major roads and very difficult areas such as steep mountains or dirt tracks. The ride will be a supported with at least two vehicles accompanying the peloton.  We are planning on using mountain bike with slick tyres.

We are in the feasibility and planning stage however  its looking good to go ahead and will be a big commitment from Accor and the senior executives taking part.
